Surviving Boston…

Baseball heaven for me is when the Yankees play the Boston Red Sox. It does not matter to me which stadium they play (and I have been to both) it will always be a good game. And it doesn’t matter who wins or who loses – Ok, who am I kidding, it is always better when the Yanks win. But if we lose, Oh well, there is always tomorrow, unless it’s the 7th game of the playoffs and Big Popi comes to the plate and smacks a homerun to the right upper deck to end our season. Personally, that is my favorite game to date, even though we lost. It was a great game. It was better than the home runs hit by Bucky F’n Dent and Arron F’n Boone.

Well this series wasn’t as dramatic, but it had it’s moments especially when Joba Chamberlin’s name comes up. (See previous post.) Pettite held up well, Wang got pelted, and Roger got smacked around, but was saved by our bull pen.

We took 2 out of three games which is good. That just puts us closer to Boston in the race for the pennant, but surpassing them is just wishful thinking. If we can take the wild card I will be happy. We just need to get in. Before we get to that point we have to play Baltimore twice, and they can play the spoiler. Baltimore is an enigma like Tampa Bay; generally they s*ck until they play either us or Boston, then they play their “A” game. Too bad they can’t do it everyday.
